“Saturday before snow storm, 5:30am no heat. Emergency fee $125 for the Carrier system installed by Jos Frederick less than 3 yrs old. Service came out at 11, worked until 2, large bumble bee in 4×2 in plastic container, water in part of furnace where working. Said this should have been maintained, showed slip of maintenance 9/25. He said not all companies do as thorough a maintenance as Jos Frederick. He cleaned out container, said gaskets need replaced. Had to order. Wanted customer to pay additional $187 for his time. Spoke to Operation Mgr, John, said no additional cut as tech did not put in writing. System was working. Less than one week later, again 5:30 am not working. Sent different tech. Worked a few hours, replaced original 4×2 plastic container, flimsy gaskets, was running, water all soaked up from mess on floor, said good to go. 13 days later, 5:30am no heat. 4/16. Came out at 10 am said $189 for his labor to replace Pressure Switch. Not covered with warranty. Do not understand why the customer should pay for labor to replace a “defective” part from Carrier HVAC. I spent over $12,000 on that system and had it maintained 9/25 but still had problem. Tried to reason with Operation Mgr, John, but he said he had to run a business and I could get it replaced by another company. Told him to order part and install. Installed part for $189 today but wrote on invoice Not pleased with service costs and this was not over. Used Jos Frederick because my neighbor was a sister of the owner and felt they would be responsible, trustworthy, not the most reasonable price, dependable. I’m writing this Poor review as that was not the case and I do Not Recommend Jos Frederick for any HVAC system. Also, tech recommended to have duct work cleaned and dryer vent, which they also Do Not Do! Had to schedule another HVAC to do that next month!”
